certification, lead your team to operational excellence, and improve your professional
standing. Tailored to trained Six Sigma Green Belts who want to become Black
Belts, this exciting program begins with a three-day refresher followed by two
interactive one-week sessions covering the Black Belt curriculum and responsibilities.
There is a three-week break between each training session for project work.
Candidates will learn how to lead teams to organizational and financial improvement,
where it is needed most. Following the DMAIC methodology (DEFINE-MEASURE- ANALYZE-IMPROVE-CONTROL),
focus is on control charts, hypothesis testing, measurement systems, regression
analysis, sampling, and design of experiments.
Course Objectives
- Learn how to lead a team through the DMAIC method and train team members
on steps, outputs, and approaches.
- Describe and apply advanced statistical tools in support of the DMAIC method;
define project team roles and responsibilities.
- Develop, try out, and implement solutions that address root causes and
use data to evaluate your solutions.
- Control the process and maintain gains by standardizing work methods or
processes, anticipating future improvements, and preserving the lessons from
your project.

- MEASURE: process mapping, data collection and analysis
- ANALYZE: identifying and verifying causes, including advanced statistics
- IMPROVE: generating, choosing, planning, and implementing solutions
- CONTROL: control tools (e.g., control charts), standardization, communication
and future plans
Who Should Attend
Six Sigma Black Belt candidates should have proven leadership and interpersonal
skills as well as an unwavering commitment to success. Potential attendees must
preselect a qualified Six Sigma project and provide evidence of successful completion
of Green Belt training.
The training includes Minitab™; attendees are responsible for bringing
laptops with Minitab 15 software. Following successful completion of the training
and final exam, candidates seeking certification are required to complete a
detailed report of a successful Six Sigma project.
